Can you arrange design and drawings for my extension or renovation?
Yes, our extension and renovation services are from start to finish including design, structural engineering, permits, project management, construction and all finishing touches to a project.

How long will my extension or renovation take to build?
Every project that Mass Constructions builds is unique, depending on size and the design elements of the project, the construction period will change dramatically. Most upper storey additions and large extensions take approximately 16 – 22 weeks. Difficult access sites and major renovations and extensions will take 24 – 28 weeks to construct.
Can I live in my home while the extension or renovation takes place?
In most cases our clients are able to stay living in their home whilst the construction takes place, depending on the layout and how much of your home is being renovated, which saves you money on renting another place during the build. All our contractors have been with us for a long time, they are courteous and mindful that this is your home and will respectfully work around you with minimal inconvenience to you.
How do you manage my project?
First you will have a dedicated project manager who will oversee the whole build and be inconstant contact with you. At Mass Constructions we use state of the art construction software which manages the budget, schedule, variations, regularly updated photos and stores all communications between the client and project manager. Our clients are able to log into the program and easily view all the information on the project in the one place.
Do you build on narrow inner city and poor access sites?
Yes we do, most of our projects have limited access yet with good construction management we are able to overcome the challenges of small access sites.
Do you use a fixed price contract?
Yes. With every fixed price contract we provide a very detailed specification for the project as well. If you change your mind during the build on certain choices we are will provide you with a Variation document which will easily guide you through how much the change will cost and what effect it will have on the project schedule before you proceed with it.
Why do builders quotes vary so much?
There are many reasons why builder’s quotes vary in price. Some reasons are the cheap builder is using poor quality materials and cheap rough tradesmen. The majorly expensive builder may simply be over quoting due to their inexperience or simply are not interested in the job.
In order to get competitive quotes you need to have a project specification when you send out your plans to builders. This will detail what materials, fixtures and fittings you would like used on the project. It will also include the scope of works that you require for the project such as painting and floor coverings etc. This will make sure the builders are all quoting on the exact same project specifications, thus enabling you as the customer to compare apples with apples.

Do you have a quality control policy?
Yes. We have created our own quality control policy based on situations we have run into on actual projects for clients. Thanks to our experience, we can often see issues with quality coming before they actually occur. We have our own internal quality checking system in place. We believe constant communication with our clients is the best way to ensure we prevent any issues arising.
